Broilers at 7 weeks

This is the only picture I got of the broilers this week. I don't spend much time with them besides feeding/watering several times a day. The closer we get to d-day, the more I need to keep my distance and not get attached.

And how are you feeling about D-Day? Sounds like you're possibly a bit mixed? You've seen Children of the Corn's postings on chicken harvest day, right? Very, very informative. If you don't have the link, I'd be happy to send it to you.

Mom, you know I can't ignore them! I try to stay tough, but they have so dang much personality!

Crystal, D-day is Nov 22. We are hoping to find a free-range turkey as well for Thanksgiving.

Danni,
This is our second time processing so it's not new. I just psych myself out when it starts getting near. Once the first one is done, it's all fun and games from there. Seriously, it's a party here on processing day. We have too much fun.
